Holiday in London | Top things to do in London | Visit London - 1 of the Favorite Destinations of the World | Bangalore to London

London is one such city where every individual dreams of visiting. My dream turned into reality when I went there with my husband on our honeymoon. My first international trip, my first international city, with the love of my life. Sounds exciting, doesn't it???

I remember when our flight landed at Heathrow airport our hearts were pounding with excitement. We were on a tour "European Whirl" by Cox and Kings. We met our tour guide Marazban Maney Parvez, who guided us to our bus to the hotel. The moment we opened the door, a cold chill breeze hit us and that feeling was lovely. It was beautiful, it was drizzling. It was 8 in the evening if i remember correctly but it was very bright outside. Like how it would be at around 4pm in India. That is how it is in Europe :)

We headed to our bus and reached Ibis Hotel. The hotel was beautiful with a outdoor garden and the rain made it look even more lovely. We had a nice walk outside on the roads, clicked a few pictures and then headed back to our rooms where we were served dinner. The food was yummy. It was Indian food. We then dozed off as we were tired.

The next morning we were on a city tour. We saw the Tower Bridge, River Thames, London Eye, Tower of London, Hyde Park, Big Ben, Westminster Palace, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the famous Piccadilly Circus, Nelson’s Column at Trafalgar Square followed by the majesty of Buckingham Palace which is the Queen’s official residence. They are all beautifully made. We also picked up a few souvenirs, clicked a few pictures and had lunch. The streets were so clean and tidy and the weather was awesome.

It was like we were dreaming. We were in London and the sight was unbelievably gorgeous.

Ooty | Bangalore to Ooty

Ooty is one of the most famous holiday destinations known to the Indians. It has developed a lot ever since we last visited Ooty when we were probably in school. The roads, stores, petrol bunks, the sign boards are all in place. Kudos to the Government.

If you are driving from Bangalore, it takes around 6hours to reach Ooty. Avoid any shortcuts that the GPS shows and take only the highway, as some shortcuts have no street lights and the roads are very bad. You can stop over at BIRYANISTAN for an awesome lunch or Pizza Corner for a pizza delight @ A/C Court.

The other speciality of this travel is that you need to pass through the Bandipur forest area where, if you are lucky, you can easily spot some deer, peacocks, elephants and sometimes tigers too. OH YES! Tigers! That is because it is a tiger reserve.

Hotel GemPark Ooty is one of the best place to stay in Ooty. The hospitality of the staff, the view and the hotel ambience itself is enough to keep you mesmerised and make your trip a memorable one. Not to forget, the restaurant in the hotel serves a variety of dishes for breakfast and they are all delicious. The view from the restaurant is worth the price.

If you plan to visit Ooty during holidays you might find it crowded. The same happened to us and so we decided to roam in and around Ooty. We visited the Pykara lake and the Pykara falls. There is boating in the pykara lake. It is so beautiful that it reminds one of the 1000 islands in the US. The Pykara falls, is a beauty. For a moment you will feel you are out of this world. You only listen to the sound of the water and birds. Beautiful it is! You will have to walk a little but its all the worth taking so much of pain. Also, there are beautiful other site-seeing places in Ooty like the rose garden, train ride which takes you to Conoor and back to Ooty which one must experience.

Do not miss the OOTY CHOCOLATE MUSEUM:

Do not miss the candle light dinner at the Mahindra property (next to Gem park ooty):
